Yellowstone Bourbon
For All. That is what Yellowstone Bourbon is all about. To express that message, our friends at Rodgers Townsend concepted a :30 spot that showed a wide variety of people and environments, about to enjoy this delicious bourbon. From the national park itself, to a NYC rooftop, to a motorcycle enthusiast's man cave and more. Traveling was not an option as we needed to be efficient with the budget, so the solution was to create this variety of environments in studio - half practically and half virtually - with 85” Full-array LED displays as background plates. Shooting this way let us "travel" without limitation, and to see and feel that environment through the transparent bottle and the beautiful amber liquid as is splashes into the glassware.
We worked with our favorite stock shops to secure a number of background clips that we could build practical elements around. We realized that some of the specific things we wanted were not available, so we shot a few of the custom scenes ourselves to make sure we had exactly what we needed.
Once we had our environments selected and approved, we got into the fun stuff...set building, art direction, and lighting. Each foreground set was built and lit specifically for the environment behind it. As we were shooting on one set, we'd be lighting and finalizing the other so we could do-si-do and keep the production moving. Over 2 days we shot 8 scenarios, 6 of them making it into the final edit.
We're excited to share the final cut below. Enjoy with a tasty beverage 🥃! Cheers!

Behind the Scenes!
It's always easier to visually see how it's done, rather than for us to try to explain it...so please enjoy this look behind the curtain in the short video below, along with a couple snaps from the shoot days.
