Loves Food

Crave worthy never goes out of style.

We've been taking photos and making films every day for 40+ years and running. Our 37 full-time employees have a passion for creative problem solving, and there isn’t much we can’t do. If it can be cooked, consumed, brewed or distilled, we love to capture it.

Our home is a 50,000 square foot space with three studios (each with a full kitchen), post house, and a bunch of the latest creative toys. Our job is to solve clients’ problems, make stuff that matters, and have fun while we do it.

Ok, enough of that, let's fire up those appetites with some of our latest food and beverage work: in motion and stills.

Trusted by the largest food & beverage brands.

Imagery of food is what we do, in every form and fashion.

Over the years we've worked with some of the largest brands in the food & beverage industry, some of which are listed below. They've trusted us with packaging, print advertising, POS, social assets, along with motion for broadcast, mobile, and everything else in between. Our photography, motion and post teams have become experts in translating recipes into the images consumers crave.

The Lay of the Land

It's nice to be able to spread out these days, and we have 50,000 square feet across three buildings to do just that. We've got three studios with full kitchens, five editing suites, a sound room and booth, six retouching stations, two floors of props and wardrobe, a rigging and set building workshop, a 30-gallon beer brewing setup and a hand made custom motorcycle sitting in our lunchroom.

We often shoot across multiple studios, with multiple sets and teams for an incredibly efficient workflow.

Our Shooting Spaces

Technically we've got three and each one comes with a photographer. However, the real magic happens when we join hands and work as one. Each photographer can run multiple sets either in a shared studio or in multiple. We're able to shoot front panel assets on one side of the room while continuing to make progress on back panels just an arm's reach away. Go go gadget arms!

It's not hoarding

Our Prop Stock

When you've been around over 40 years, you tend to collect some things. Our prop room(s) are a plethora of accessible dishware, wardrobe, furniture, surfaces, taxidermy, basketball hoops and just about everything in between...all at our fingertips for just when you need that thing, you know, that one thing that will make the thing, just the thing. With the massive amount of inventory we have in our propping and wardrobe department, we have someone to track, organize and be ready to grab that one little wooden bbq brush at a moments notice.

On Site Workshop

We've got a mad-scientist ready to customize, build, cut, paint, repaint, affix and just about anything else we need. If the plate is the perfect shape and size but wrong color we'll change it. If that wooden spoon is just a little bit too long, consider it shortened, lathed, stained to match and fixed.

We build rigs to hold things, throw things, or pump things. If you can imagine it, we can make it happen.

On Staff Food Crew

Cathy Chipley - Stylist's eye with the practical sensibility of a Producer. Cathy coordinates the stylist teams, breaks down recipe builds, manages product shipments and if you're nice enough she'll make you candied bacon. When she's involved in a shoot, people thank us.

Julia Calleo - She's a food stylist and a prop stylist with a blogging habit. She's also an aspiring photographer. Her insight and experience create a unique take on food presentation and she's an inspiration to everyone around her. But don't take our word for it, check her Instagram for proof.

Retouching

We've got a team of retouchers at the ready to take your images from wow to WOW. Don't be surprised if you see a retoucher on set during the shoot. To keep things moving efficiently we like to have a retoucher plugged into the shoot to go over each shot and quickly comp together anything that requires multiple images.

We utilize a centralized website called Hightail for file reviews and markups. This allows everyone on your team (and ours) to view and make comments all in one place, no matter how many cities you're in. And don't worry, your photographer(s) are involved in the entire process to see the vision through.

Post

With six dedicated editors, a colorist and a sound engineer all in-house we've streamlined our post workflow from start to finish. Each are setup with their own suite for in-house edit sessions, as well as the latest software that can bring the edit session to you live, regardless of your location.

So kick back, grab some coffee and let's get to work.

Here are a few project-focused case studies that dig a little deeper into our processes.
